"POSSIBLE
SERVICE TO POINTS IN ALASKA CONSIDERED AS PSA LOOKS TO
SUMMER"
Pacific Southwest Airlines is
considering service to destinations in Alaska, including
Anchorage, as part of its summer expansion plan, company spokesman
Bill Hastings said yesterday.
Hastings said a decision would be
made in one or two weeks. He said the long-haul flights would take
about 3 1/2 hours from the Pacific Northwest and four hours from
most California cities.
Company officials currently are
determining the airline’s summer schedules. Other cities under
consideration include Albuquerque, Salt Lake City, South Lake
Tahoe and Monterey.
The airline which has been steadily increasing
its aircraft fleet, will take delivery of two additional aircraft
this spring. The company’s next expansion will not be as large
as the airline’s seven-city expansion last December, Hastings
added.
